I drove many miles completely out of my way to shoot this tree. It changes so much daily. I was lucky to catch it in full flame, the other day. Today, there are washes of pink mixed with deep Burgundy...This old piece of glass is bringing me so much joy. Loving my vintage Nikon lens! I can hardly contain myself. #gratitude
What an amazing day. I got to view, learn and photograph some of the most majestic birds of prey who reside in New York State. Unfortunately, so much of their habitat is being destroyed by us.
Awoke this morning feeling hopeful. There is a stripping away that is occurring in our culture. We seem to be getting to some raw nerve.
Will write more later. For now, I've got to hit the snow. The forecast is 55 degrees today and 60 degrees tomorrow. My love affair with this trekking bliss is coming to its end....
Time outdoors is essential to my creative process. In nature, I breathe reflection. I am centered. I am focused. I know that I am blessed. I am grateful. And the new work taking shape inside my studio has me singing songs of praise.
We've had very little snow in these parts this winter. I crave the peacefulness and beauty of blizzards.
Awoke to 25 degrees this morning. Hello November. 3 miles in the book.
Took this photo during my run yesterday afternoon. The temperature was brisk at 41 degrees. Still, I wore my running skirt and compression socks. I love my new Nike neoprene running jacket. I swear by Nike running apparel. It's the best. Ran off road on the open fields; I felt like a mustang...
Driving toward the gym on a road like this seems unnatural.
Nature feeds the process. This is a marking technique that I have mused on for years now. I look forward to placing the several hundred small tiles throughout both chambers inside Tony Moore's anagama/noriborigama Japanese style wood burning kiln in April.

6.24 beautiful miles...The focus is on breath during my practice. Centering. I believe, every working artist and human being needs to take time to away from distraction to recalibrate the spirit...Running is my way of spiritual centering and soul recalibration. I am so grateful for the ability to move...
While I rehab my running injury and heal; I will walk...
On my way to work it out in the gym before sequestering myself inside my studio....
I am still running. I've been running every day since Thanksgiving 2015. It is now, January 6, 2016. I've also been taking nature photographs during my runs here in Upstate NY. I'm in the midst of a creative cleanse. I am distilling.
The only game changer in this equation is me.
I'm in the midst of a run streak. I was already running 6 days a week. However, I saw the Runners World Run Streak 2015 challenge posted on Instagram that challenged runners to run every day from Thanksgiving until New Year Day 2016. So, runners are tagging #rwrunstreak on Instagram photos from their daily runs. This is my first experience with participating in a social media virtual run streak. I find it quite amazing. I appreciate seeing other runners journeys and stories. There's so much beauty out there!
I already use nature photography as part of my creative practice. However, my photography is taking on a whole new significance, as I am determined to run through winter 2016. I am so grateful for this practice. And I am so excited for this #rwrunstreak!
Here are some of the photos from my Instagram gallery. All photos from my runs are taken with my iPhone 6 Plus.
