"Flower Power!"

I drew this flower free form onto the bench. It looks like a mandala to me. So, I decided to create  tension with the placement of the background glass. The background tesserae is frenetic and scattered, while the center flower is orderly and compact. This is analogous to what it's like to meditate; to sit; to rest. I also wanted to play with grout lines. This is my first time playing with this much grout spacing. I want to see what the visual effect will be. Taking risks is what it's all about for me!

I am happy to use some of the vintage stained glass that Richard and I salvaged from an elderly stain glass artist a few years ago. The lot is from the 60s & 70s. Some is hand poured. Beautiful colors.
